Following the metabolic processes that form the skeletal system, yoga and Ayurveda view hair and nails as malas or metabolic waste products. Experts claim that when combined with vitamin C and omega-3 fatty acids, a holistic approach to hair health that includes yoga will enable you to enjoy long, beautiful hair.
One expert suggested adding ingredients like fenugreek, amla and giloy. Keeping your scalp healthy is important as it promotes hair growth. Lack of hygiene can seriously damage the health of your hair. Wash your hair thoroughly once or twice a week. Avoid over-brushing your hair as this can loosen the skin on top of your head and weaken the hair roots. Instead, massage gently with natural oils. This will promote your hair roots.

Following Yogas for Hair Growth and Scalp Health :
1. Adho Mukha Svanasana (Downward-Facing Dog Pose):
This position can nourish the blood follicles, thereby increasing blood circulation to the scalp. Start in a hands-and-knees position, then extend your hips upward and backward to extend your legs, creating an inverted V shape. Lengthen your spine and relax your head and neck as you hold a few breaths.
2. Padahastasana (Standing Forward Bend):
Padahasthasana stretches the back of the body, especially the hamstrings and spine, and increases blood flow to the scalp. Keeping your feet hip-width apart, take a deep breath, bend forward from the hips and keep the spine long. Let your head hang strongly to reduce stress on the neck and promote blood flow to the scalp.
3. Sarvangasana (Shoulder Stand):
The benefits of Sarvangasana include increasing blood flow to the scalp and stimulating the thyroid gland, which regulates hormone levels. With your arms supporting your back, raise your legs while lying on your back. Prevent excessive strain on the cervical spine by keeping the neck long.
4. Vajrasana (Thunderbolt Pose):
Vajrasana can indirectly improve hair health by reducing stress and improving digestion. As you kneel on the floor, place your hands on your thighs and your hips on your heels. Take a tall position, take deep breaths and focus on being relaxed and comfortable.
5. Matsyasana (Fish Pose):
Stretching the neck and throat, Matsyasana also stimulates the thyroid gland and increases blood flow to the head. Lie on your back, with your arms at your sides and your legs spread apart. Raise your chest toward the ceiling while pressing your elbows and hands into the floor. Keep your weight on your elbows as you drop your head back, which will open up your chest and throat.
6. Bhujangasana (Cobra Pose):
Bhujangasana stimulates the abdominal organs, expands the spine and chest, and reduces stress and tension. Lie on your stomach, keeping your hands under your shoulders and your elbows close to your body. Inhale while keeping your lower ribs on the floor and lifting your chest off the floor. As you breathe deeply into your chest and abdomen, lengthen your spine and look forward.
7. Balayam mudra:
Rubbing the nails together on both hands is known as “Balayam Yoga” and it increases blood flow to the scalp, hence promoting hair growth. Place your hands palms up so that your nails are in contact as you sit comfortably. Do this for five to ten minutes every day, rubbing your nails together.
8. Kapalabhati Pranayama (Skull Shining Breath):
By increasing oxygen and purifying the body, the breathing technique known as Kapalbhati Pranayama can improve general health, including hair health. Breathe deeply through your nostrils while keeping your spine straight. Then, immediately tighten the abdominal muscles to force it out. As you gain strength and endurance, start with a few rounds and gradually increase the time.
