The upcoming Spider-Man Noir series starring Nicolas Cage is currently in production, and the first set images have now revealed the superhero suit he'll be sporting in the live-action debut.
Titled Spider-Noir, the series will be following the same character voiced by Cage in the acclaimed Spider-Verse films, a middle-age multiverse variant of Spider-Man that uses old-school gadgets and suit design.
It will be a period piece that will take direct inspiration from the comics, if the incredibly accurate superhero suit is anything to judge Spider-Noir by.
The images leaked on X/Twitter, revealing a stunt person on the set of Spider-Noir from Amazon MGM Studios wearing a comic-accurate superhero suit.
The goggles, trench coat, and the period-piece setting are all-too-familiar for fans of the character, who has appeared in animated form on television and on the big screen.
While Nicolas Cage is probably not in the suit at the moment of the set images, it can be assumed that he will be donning the iconic outfit at some point.
Expect an official look at the upcoming series sooner rather than later due to the production leaks.
The steampunk version of Spider-Man has appeared in a number of mediums. Although Spider-Noir is his live-action debut, fans of the alternate hero can see him in Spider-Verse and playas him in the Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions video game.
The latter is a fan-favorite and widely considered as one of the best Spider-Man games of all time, recently dethroned by the new Insomniac franchise, which appeared in animated films.
It's arguable that's when Spider-Man Noir became relevant in the superhero space, before Cage made the character his own on the big screen.
Instead of the typical Peter Parker Spider-Man story, Spider-Noir follows a classic detective in the 1940s with a steampunk aesthetic. In addition to Cage, the show features Oscar nominee Brendan Gleeson is set to play the villain in the upcoming series from Amazon.
Meanwhile, the supporting cast includes Lukas Haas, Cameron Britton, Cary Christopher, Michael Kostroff, Scott MacArthur, Joe Massingill, Whitney Rice, and Amanda Schull. Plot details remain scarce, as well as who Gleeson is playing, but the official logline is quite exciting.
