The stage is set for the outcome of the battle between the JMM-Congress-RJD alliance and the BJP-led NDA. The Election Commission of India (ECI) has begun counting the votes at 8 am today.

Trends at 11.30 am indicate positives for the INDIA bloc, with JMM taking the lead in 29 seats, Congress in 14, RJD in 5 seats, CPI (M-L) in 1, taking the alliance total close to the majority mark at 49. 

Meanwhile, the BJP is coasting solo, leading in 27 seats, with other alliance partners leading in 1 seat each. Trends are out for all 81 assembly seats till 11 am.

Jharkhand voted in two phases for 81 assembly constituencies — the first day was November 13, and the second day was November 20.  

The JMM alliance includes the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, Indian National Congress (Congress), Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), and the Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist). 

The NDA comprises the Bharatiya Janata Party, the All Jharkhand Students Union (AJSU), Janata Dal (United), and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas). 

Jharkhand Election Results Live: The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has delivered big in Jharkhand, leading in five of the six seats it contested in the state assembly elections, according to a PTI report.  

Notably, the exit polls were split, with many predicting an NDA victory in the state. Early trends of the results began trickling in from 9.30 am today.
