The Swiss aerospace company has launched SiriusJet, the first premium VTOL aircraft powered by hydrogen. The aircraft is advertised as economical because a full fuel tank refill, which covers the maximum travel distance, costs only $500 in total.

It is claimed that Sirius Aviation’s aircraft operate in near silence and produce 90% less noise than helicopters.

A plane can fly past the neighborhood because, at 100 meters away, its noise level is comparable to that of a dishwasher. An airframe parachute system installed in an aircraft is said to essentially eliminate the possibility of an incident.

The SiriusJet Emergency Parachute System is designed to automatically deploy in the event of a catastrophic emergency, adding an extra degree of safety assurance, according to the manufacturer.

The SiriusJet is designed to produce noise levels below 60 decibels. The jet has no environmental impact and no emissions.

Its range exceeds the capabilities of fully electric eVTOLs

A VTOL aircraft has the ability to fly as fast as an airplane and take off and land like a helicopter. Its 1150-mile range exceeds that of fully electric eVTOLs, which typically have a maximum range of about 150 miles.

At a cruise speed of 520 km/h (323 mph), the SiriusJet can reach an altitude of 30,000 feet, thanks to its pressurized cabin and ducted fan design solution.

Passenger’s psychological comfort

According to the business, its airframe parachute system greatly improves the mental comfort for passengers, especially for individuals with a fear of flying, such as Muhammad Ali, who is famous for flying with his own parachute.

The business said, “With this solution, we have addressed the psychological comfort of passengers on small planes.”

Sirius Business Jet and Sirius Millennium Jet are two zero-emission versions of the aircraft that Sirius intends to introduce in 2025. It can carry up to three people, meeting the demand for private jets. A range of 650 miles, a five-passenger capacity and commercial use are all features of the Sirius Millennium Jet.
