The Mouse and the Lion
Once, as the lion was sound asleep in the jungle, a mouse began to playfully run up and down his body. The lion was upset by this and became irate upon awakening. The mouse pleaded with the lion to release him just as he was ready to devour him. “If you save me, I swear I will be of great assistance to you someday.” The mouse’s self-assurance made the lion laugh, so he let him go.
A few hunters entered the bush one day and brought the lion with them. He was bound up against a tree by them. Whimpering, the lion was having trouble getting free. The mouse soon realized the lion was in trouble as it passed by. He bolted and began to gnaw on the ropes, freeing the lion. They both drove off into the woods.
