Ingredients needed for South Indian Lemon Rice

One lemon, two tablespoons sesame oil, one teaspoon mustard seeds, one teaspoon whole black gram, one teaspoon chana dal, one sprig curry leaves, two dry red chilies, three green chilies, five cashew nuts, eight to ten peanuts, one teaspoon turmeric powder, and one cup column rice

1 Step:

Use enough water to wash and cook the kolum rice. After that, remove any extra water from the rice and set it aside.

2 Step:

Heat the sesame oil in a kadhai and add the mustard seeds, chana dal, and whole black gram. Allow to turn a nutty brown.

3 Step:

Curry leaves, dried red chilies, and green chilies should now be added. Sauté for one minute.

4 Step:

Stir in the peanuts and cashew nuts and sauté until lightly golden brown. Turn off the heat and stir in the lemon juice, salt, and turmeric powder. Blend thoroughly.
