The National Testing Agency (NTA) has decreased the number of exam cities for the upcoming Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2025. As per the information bulletin, the total number of exam cities has been reduced from 300 cities last year to 284 this year.
The NTA has also made several adjustments to the list of exam cities for the JEE Main 2025, as per the official notification. In this year’s list of designated cities, Lakhimpur in Assam, which was included in previous years, is missing.
Tamil Nadu has experienced a reduction, with three cities, including Nagapattinam, Coonoor and Tiruppur, being removed from its exam cities’ list and two cities, including Nagercoil and Tiruvallur, being added.
While some states have seen a decrease in exam cities, Telangana has experienced an increase in cities, with two additional cities being added to accommodate the candidate population. Maharashtra, on the other hand, has two cities missing, while four cities have been added compared to the previous year.
It is worth noting that the registration process for JEE Main 2025 is underway, and the deadline to apply for the exam is November 22. Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria can fill out the JEE main 2025 application form by visiting the official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in.
The National Testing Agency has also dropped the number of international exam cities. According to the information bulletin, the number of international exam cities for JEE Main 2025 has decreased from 24 to just 14.
